Miss Cherokee Co Queens' Legacy

The Miss Cherokee County Scholarship Organization has been honored to work with 5 amazing past title holders.  Each of these women contributed so much to our program, community and state.  We are very proud of their accomplishments during and since their reign as Miss Cherokee County.

Miss Cherokee County 2003 -- Tara Tanner

Tara was our first Miss Cherokee County under our current board of directors.  She was a very talented young woman that worked tirelessly for many charities including Habitat for Humanity and the Atlanta Youth Foundation.  She was also active in Women Helping Women, the charitable organization established by the Atlanta Falcon''s Cheerleaders of which Tara was a member for 4 seasons.  Tara passed away in July 2004.  She was a wonderful young woman who will be missed greatly by all who were privileged to know her.  Our interview scholarship is awarded each year as a memorial to Tara.

Miss Cherokee County 2004 -- Jessica Snyder

Jessica represented Cherokee County at the 2004 Miss Georgia Pageant; she returned to the 2005 Miss Georgia Pageant as Miss North Georgia Mountains. She received a non-finalist talent award for her comedic monologue "Gone with the Wind" in both 2004 and 2005. Jessica went on to compete in the 2006 Miss South Carolina Pageant where she was nominated for the Academic Achievement Award and again received a non-finalist talent award.

Jessica graduated magna cum laude from North Greenville University in 2006 where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in theatre. Jessica currently attends Western Illinois University where she was accepted into an assistantship program in the study of costume design. She plans to complete her first Masters Degree in costume design and her second Masters Degree in theatre. She and her dog, Lola Fitzgerald currently reside in Macomb, Illinois.

Miss Cherokee County 2005 -- Stephanie Tyson Dawson

Stephanie won the title of Miss Cherokee County 2005, and was a common sight through-out Cherokee County and Atlanta. She had the pleasure of working with organizations such as Pumps for Pets, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and many others. She has performed the National Anthem at the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA and at several different events. She has judged, entertained and emceed multiple high school pageants through-out Cherokee and Cobb County. Recently married, she spends most of her weekends with her new husband Michael!  She currently lives in Alpharetta and is employed at HCC Life Insurance Company in Kennesaw, GA.

Miss Cherokee County 2006 -- Elizabeth Neidel

Elizabeth has remained quite busy since passing on her title last January. In May 2007 she graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Theatre and Performance Studies degree and a minor in Dance. On August 1, 2007 she officially started her new job with the Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. She works in the Education Department with the title of Project Assistant for the Institute for Educators. She also teaches children’s acting classes with the Alliance Acting Program and will begin as an Alliance Theatre Teaching Artist in January 2008. Elizabeth has also spent a lot of time on stage this fall working with the Aurora Theatre, Relativity Theatre Concern, and Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, where funny enough, she played the role of an evil pageant queen. In February you can catch her in Peter Pan at the Atlanta Lyric Theatre. In her spare time Elizabeth loves spending time with her family and boyfriend.
