2010 Judges

The Miss Cherokee Rose Scholarship Program is proud to announce the panel of judges for the 2010 Miss Cherokee Rose and Miss Cherokee Rose Pageant.

Jimmy Anderson is a developer from Dahlonega, Georgia.  He has judged numerous pageants in Georgia over several years.  He was a member of the Miss Lake Lanier Board and became a certified judge in 2002.He is very active in Dahlonega and Lumpkin Counties.  He is currently Chairperson of the Dahlonega Historic Commission, member of the Lumpkin County Development Authority and the Lumpkin County Historical Society.  He retired in 2005 after 34 years as Postmaster of Dahlonega and has been a city council member and mayor of Dahlonega.  He was named “Lumpkin County’s Outstanding Citizen” in 1990. Jimmy is married with four children and four grandchildren.

Andre is a native New Yorker but has called Atlanta home for the past twenty one years. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Management Information Systems, Andre is a Business Planning Analyst for Hewlett Packard Corporation. For the past nineteen years, he has served as the Executive Director of the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Pageant, a Miss Georgia and Miss America Preliminary. He is also certified as a judge in the Miss America system through the state of Georgia. Andre has judged Miss America local preliminaries in seven states throughout the Southeast and Midwest. He also judged the 2004 Miss West Virginia Pageant, the 2006 Miss New Hampshire Pageant, and the 2009 Miss South Dakota Pageant. He has extensive training in many forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet and African and he volunteers his time and talents to the Onyx Dance Company.

Jimmy Anderson, Head Judge

Native of Georgia, Ginger currently resides in Glennville, GA where she provides insurance and financial services through her State Farm Agency. She serves as a trustee on the Tattnall County Scholarship Foundation and is a volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Married to her husband David for 26 years, together, they are the proud parents of two daughters, Lace and Lauren. Ginger is an avid fan of the Miss America system and has been involved in the program since 1998. Their daughter Lace proudly reigned as Miss Tattnall County, Miss Southern Rose, Miss Historic North Georgia and as Miss Cobb County, Lace was named in the top 10 at Miss Georgia and granted the coveted title of Miss Congeniality.

Andre Prospere

Kara is the editor of three AroundAbout magazines including TowneLaker, East Cobb and Cumming.  Originating from Colorado, Kara graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Communications.  She has lived in Cherokee County for 14 years with her husband Mike and sons Brandon and Garrett. 

Ginger Larrabee

Barbara is a Registered Nurse, consultant and national speaker.  In her role as Principal Consultant and member of Press Ganey & Associates’ Consulting Group, she provides guidance to healthcare leaders & physicians in achieving employee engagement and improving the patient experience.  A member of the National Speaker’s Association, in March, 2010, she will begin a cross country tour, presenting a series of communication workshops to healthcare management and leaders.  She and husband Charlie live on their farm in Rome, GA and are the parents of Chase, 25, a police officer with the Rome City Police Department and daughter Jill, 22, a graduate of Shorter College, now living in Montgomery, Alabama pursuing a degree in law.
